I have a users here that are running Windows 2000 with Office XP. They will
send an email to a client with an attachment (Word Document). *Sometimes*
the client will reply that they can not open the file.
The error they see on their end is "Word can not open this document make
sure it has a .doc extension and try again" They will then go through the
same steps and attach the same Word document and usually the client can open
the second or third email with the attachment.
This one client is using Lotus Notes and Office 97. This same situation has
happened to other clients that receive email from users on my network with
attachments. I'm not sure of their Word processor or email client. The only
common thing with the people having problems with the attachments (that I
can figure out) is that the email was sent from a user on my network. It
does not happen *every time* an email is sent with a Word attachment, but it
*always* happens with a Word attachment. Sending the same email a second or
third time, works *every* *single* time in that by the second or third
sending, they can open the attachment.
We are using Word as the email editor and we have to use the HTML format so
our disclaimer is attached.
Is our problem with the HTML setting?
Thanks
