Can't Open Outlook

A

Allan

Every time I try to open Outlook, I receive the following
message:

Outlook could not open the file containing the folders
used to send and receive email messages, create appts,
and open the address book. Please select from the
options below:

__ Create New Personal Folders File

__ Open an existing personal folders file

Doesn't make a difference which selection I make.
Outlook eventually closes since the only workable option
is to hit the cancel button. I also am warned my virtual
memory is low. I have checked this and do not see a
problem with it.

I can use Outlook Express with no problems. This is
good, but I would like to solve this problem with
Outlook. I have defragged the hard drive and ran Norton
Antivirus (no problems noted). Not sure what to do next.

Hi Allan:

I would suggest that you may have a corrupted file within Outlook. I would
suggest that you de-install the product and re-install it. It is also
possible that your data file is corrupt. Are you using Outlook in IMO or on
an Exchange server. If IMO (Internet Mail Only), Microsoft does make an
INBOX repair tool called scanpst.exe. You might try the site Slipstick.com.
They seem to be the Outlook experts on the net.
IF your version of outlook is new enough, you could email Microsoft's tech
support and ask them.

Henry
