can't save index page

J

Joe G.

I have successfully published my website and it has been
satisfactory, nothing great, but functional. When I save
pages on my site they save perfectly ... except for the
index.htm page. When I try to save it I am informed that
there is already a page with that name on the server and I
must rename it to save it. This only happens on the index
page. It might be worth noting that I had inadvertently
removed my original index page at one time and had copied
a new one from the copy on my computer. I was able to
save to it for a while, but not any more. My webhost has
tried saving to it and there is no problem for him. My
congregation is wanting me to update that index page
soon. Ideas?

In Windows Explorer find and delete all *.web files - usually in
"C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Microsoft\Web Server Extensions\Cache"
Then open your online site and run tools recalculate hyperlinks and try again
