Can't view some XL files

I'm able to open the XL 2000 program and some files and view them. Yet there
are some other files that open, but can't be seen in XL. There is no
spreadsheet on the screen when the file is open, yet I can use the arrow keys
and move around the cells and see the values in the cells, in the tool bar up
top. Any idea why I can't view these certain files. Also I tried to get the
updates for Office 2000, but when it goes to install "Office 2000 Service
Release 1a (SR-1a)" it is unable to find the install files on the Internet,
even though I am connected to the Internet.

OK, I can view the spreadsheet when I click to view it Full Screen, but when
I take full screen off I can't view the spreadsheet.

Sounds like the spreadsheet is opening off-screen. What happens if you
click on Window | Arrange | Tiled? Regarding updating, please quote the
error message exactly and completely.

Thanks for the suggestion. It apprently was already set up that way, but when
I did that, Icould view it on the screen again. I was messing around with it
before then & would be able to view it when I went to full screen, but then
when I went back to normal view it would be gone again. Got to love MS. Go
Bill!
