Change default working hours

For the life of me I cannot figure out how to change the >default< working
hours from 8am etc to another time - either in the Standard base calendar or
my own calendar.

If you change the hours in the calendar by selecting the days along the top
then Project just changes the days to "Nondefault Working Time" and hashes
out the days in the grid, which makes it impossible to see when you actually
do have a true non-default working time.

Thanks Mike, but I did already look at your FAQ.

Seems to be a common requirement in Project since v1.0 to change the
definition of "Default Working Hours", and there simply seems to be no way
of doing it, which seems totally and utterly stupid to me.

Yes, Jeremy, the default is hard coded, and I submitted a wish to MS to
change this several months ago. You best bet is to create a template set up
with the calendars you want. There's another FAQ on that: #8. New Project
Template.
