Change working time

Hi, im Yogi.
i would like to ask about change working time in Project Profesional 2007.
I have created Project in Project Pro then i publish.
In the next day... i open that project in project pro and i want to set my
employee working times.
I go to tools -> change working time.
but i couldn't write anything in exceptions fields. I m really sure that i
have logged in as Project manager and im sure that i have administrator
priviledge in Project server.
Then i try to work offline. I save my project as mpp file in local
storage. Then i open that file, i go to tools -> change working time. Now i
can read in the exceptions field.
My question is : is it necessary to create the project as Mpp file and
working offline to change woriking time?
Could someone explain this?

Hi Yogi,

The reason why you cant change the work time is because you are logged on to
Project Server. Since you work with global resources in Project Server, you
can only change their worktime by checking the resource out and then changing
his/her calendar.
You can check them out as follow:
- open Resource Center
- choose the resource you wish to change
- click on the "open..." button, which will open project pro, which will
have the resource checked out you have chosen.
- Now you can double click on the resource and the resource inforamtion
dialog window will open, where you can change the working times for this
resource by clicking on the change work times button.
- Once you have done the change, save the resource global and the change
will take effect for this global resource.
