Changing Project Manager Restores Hidden Tasks

It appears that to change Project Managers on a published project plan (for
vacation coverage) you have to republish all assignments. When this
republish happens, tasks that a user has hidden (one at a time) are now
re-displayed. Is there a way to change Project Managers without
re-displaying all hidden tasks?

Rather than republishing all tasks, the substitute PM could select only
in-progress and unstarted tasks in the project plan, and then republish the
assignments for only the selected tasks. Hope this helps.
