check email on start

Anyone know of a command-line parameter, or other option, to have MS
Outlook (2004) check email on launch? I can't find anything in the
docs or online.

Outlook 2004? Do you mean 2003?

Usually if you set Outlook to check for new mail at a certain interval, it
will check at startup as well.

Sorry, right, 2003-- the new one :) I did try that, setting it for
the max value, which I think was something like 1440 minutes... but it
still feels like a hack (and a hack that triggers at weird times,
since I keep Outlook launched pretty much all the time). Oh well. I'm
surprised some of these "fundimental" changes haven't been
implemented-- sort of like the quick contact search field at the top
of the screen that seems to only search the full business name, or
sometimes catches part of the last name, at least on my Outlook.
(Couldn't there be a simple full-text contact search? Ah, how much
time it would save...) But I digress :)
