Chinese Numbering

I am using Words 2003. When every time I do numbering, words trigger auto
complete and number it with Chinese wording like 甲, 乙. I really don't want
such numbering and I need to choose another format that I want EVERY TIME.
How can I avoid this?

In Word, click on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You Type |
uncheck the "Automatic numbered lists" box | OK.
