Clear Splits & Delays from Preleveled Task

I'm new to Project and apologize for the basic nature of this question.
However, I've searched several sources for an answer and haven't made
progress.

When I disply the Leveling Gantt view and having cleared leveling, some of
the preleveled tasks do not match the start and end dates that were defined
when I created the task and dependencies. Furthermore, some of the
preleveled tasks show a split which I never entered when defining the task.
Can someone tell me why this is so and how I can get the leveling Gantt view
to display the project without the splits and delays?

Thanks,
JM

OK. Sorry for the clutter. I've done a bit more searching and have learned
that the Preleveled Start and Stop times are copied from the Start and Stop
times prior to levelling. I've also learned that checking the Clear Leveling
vales before Leveling does not undo the Preleveled Start and Stop changes.
Rather, one must run Clear Leveling... to undo the Preleveled Start and Sop
changes (and this must be done while Undo is still available).

In case anyone else is interested in this question, I've found what I
believe is a work-around if you've lost the ability to Undo via Clear
Leveling... I created a nonsense resource that had no assignments. Then, I
leveled on this resource only. Then, I ran Clear Leveling... This seems to
have reset the Preleveled Start and Stop values to their true preleveled
values.
