click and drag images into word doc

Michele

I am trying to Click and drag images into my word doc (instead of using the insert button, this takes too long) however when i one in it shows up as an icon instead of the actual picture. The other people working on this same project are able to drag the image into there docs and it shows up as the actual picture. I can't find any settings to alter to change this and autohelp is no help

Any suggestions
thanks, Michele

Thanks Andre.

I ruled out the rest so it must be the free memory. My help desk is going to see if they can find some more RAM for my box, hopefully that will help.

Thanks, Michele

Where are you dragging images from (Clip Organizer? Desktop?) If it's from
clip organizer, are they web clips?

Check to see if any of these are enabled:
a.. You have Image Placeholders turned on. Check Word>Preferences>View to
ensure that Drawings is checked and Image placeholders is not checked.

You see an icon or a red 'X' instead of your graphics. Normally, this means
the graphic in question has been moved or corrupted or you are out of (free)
memory.

I have run into the same issue. At one time, I was able to drag and drop any
type of non-corrupt graphic into a Word 2000 document on the computer (Windows
2000)I am using now, but now just an icon representing the graphic and the
graphic name are the only things listed in the word document. I've searched
hours in the MS KB and nothing has turned up

I have manipulated the options menu to duplicate the settings on computers
(Windows 2000) at my work where the drag and drop method continues to work
without incident, but my attempts on this computer have been futile; The insert
method through the drop down menu still continues to work though.
