% Complete Calculation

Has anyone created an Enterprise Field that compares % Complete with % Work
Complete? And then used that with a graphical indicator to show project
status?

([% Work Complete]-[% Complete]) > 0

I have never calculated project status from these two fields but it can be
done. What is it exactly that you are trying to display? Can you
elaborate?

Yes, I have done this in an environment where the organization uses
primarily Fixed Duration tasks and the Hours of Work Done Per Period method
of tracking progress. We did not do this on the project level, but only on
the task level. At the task level in a Fixed Duration environment, when %
Complete is greater than % Work Complete, this usually means that the work
is falling behind schedule. The formula in that environment was:

[Percent Complete] - [Perecent Work Complete]

To set up graphical indicators, the tests would be entirely up to you and
your organization's reporting needs. A very simple set of graphical
indicators would be:

Is greater than 0 Red stoplight
Is less than or equal to 0 Green stoplight

Just some thoughts. Hope this helps.
