computer slow when opening or saving files in microsoft office

My computer is extremely slow whenever I try to open or save a file in
Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word. I am running Windows Xp with Microsoft
Office Professional 2003. HELP!

What antivirus software are you using? Norton?

Well there's your answer then! NAV likes to check a document every time you
open or save it. Disable the Office plugin, problem solved. If you don't know
how to do this - well NAV has a help file, doesn't it?
