Convert Picture to Page

Henry

I have imported a picture of an IRS document ( .BMP file) into Word 97.
Now I wish to convert the picture so that it becomes part of the page thus
permitting me to enter numbers into the various boxes.

How can I convert the picture so that it becomes like a Word page?

Hi Henry,

Probably the easiest way to do this is to put the picture in the document header or footer, so that it becomes a watermark, then, in
the body of the document, overlay the picture with a table constructed so that its cells line up with the boxes that you need to
enter data into.

I have a friend who has a Hewlett Packard scanner. This scanner will scan a
paper document and output the scan directly into Word. The document in Word
is completely usable. Any part of it can be written or altered or deleted.
Unfortunately, my Epson scanner does not have this capability. I was hoping
that Word did have such a capability.

You will need to format the picture so that the Text Wrapping is set to be
"Behind Text" and anchor it so that it does not move with the text. Then
you can type over the top of it.

Hope this helps.

It's not a function of the scanner so much as having some OCR (Optical
Character Recognition) software.
