Converting Appleworks files to Word

G

GeorgeM

I have a number of Appleworks files I'd like to convert
to Word for use on a PC. I assume I can buy Word for Mac
and convert that way, but I'd rather not spend $150 for
software I'm probably only going to use very briefly. Is
there another way to do this?

Thanks,

Since it sounds like you still have the Mac, you can Save As RTF while in
Appleworks. Word can open RTF (rich text format) no problem, though you
might lose a few appleworks-only features, assuming some exist.

If you have a lot of files, presumably you could write an applescript to
help.
