Copy a chart from EXCEL to Word

Marvin Buzz

I have a chart named "Chart 1" in an EXCEL spreadsheet. How do I
programatically copy that chart from EXCEL and paste it into Word at a
bookmark location?

Thanks.

I'm not sure why you would want to paste the same chart into the same
document more than once. Unless you are trying to update a chart. If
that's the case, then use Edit/Paste Special and choose the Paste Link
command so that the chart will update all by itself.

Otherwise, you may have to explain further.

Hi Marvin,

The "how to copy" part you need to ask in an Excel newsgroup.

You should find information on how to automate the Word application at
word.mvps.org, so the following just shows how to address the bookmark
and use the Paste method. If you need to follow-up on this, please
specify the VERSION of Office involved.

Dim rng as Word.Range

If wdDoc.Bookmarks.Exists("Name") Then
Set rng = wdDoc.Bookmarks("Name").Range
rng.Paste
'If you need to recreate the bookmark
'wdDoc.Bookmarks.Add(Range:=rng, Name:="Name")
End If
