Copy Project not on server

I have a project plan that is exactly what I want for a new project. I want
to preserve the actuals as a baseline and change the start dates for the
present time. How do I do this?

Hello M.D.,

You could certainly copy the file through the operating system or open
the existing file, go to File > Save As and give the file a new name.

To keep the actual data as a baseline, simply save the baseline (Tools >
Tracking > Save Baseline). If prompted, over write the existing baseline
or save to another baseline such as Baseline1 or Baselin2.

When you save the baseline it will take the current schedule, including
Actual Start, Actual Finish, etc. and copy that data to the baseline
Start, baseline finish etc.

Next you will need to remove all Actual (tracked) data. I woud apply
the tracking table and set % complete to zero. Remove all Actual Start
Dates.

I'm not sure I follow what you mean by "change the start dates for the
present time." I assume you wish to move the schedule of the project to
begin now. If you have not entered any constraints, you may change the
start date of the project through Project > Project Information. If you
have constraints entered, you'll need to use the Adjust Dates button on
the Analysis toolbar.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
