created letterhead template, having problems with cursor location.

I have created a letterhead template, saved it in templates, but the cursor
is half way down the page when I attempt to open it on a clean sheet to type
a letter. How do I reposition the cursor, it will go down, but not up

Make sure that the vertical alignment is set to Top, not Center (Layout tab
of Page Setup).
