Creating a filter

I am trying to creat a filter that gives me all the tasks that are late to
the progress date. I tried using slipping tasks, but didn't give me the
report I am looking for.
Please Help.
Thanks

It sounds like you need to set a baseline. Without this none of the "Late"
reports will work. As a rule I always set a baseline before work begins.
Tools>Tracking>Save Baseline (Not Base 1, 2, 3....)

Hi Pooja,

Can you tell us more specifically what you are looking for and why the
"Slipping Tasks" filter didn't show you what you need?

Hi Julie
I have baselined the entired project. And I need to generate report that
shows all the tasks that are delayed, meaning either they should have been
started or they are behind schedule. I am trying to create a filter which
would give me all the tasks that are behind schedule as of 4/20/06 and I have
3 tasks that are, but when I use the filter it doesn't show any thing.

thanks
Pooja

Hi pooja,

For tasks that should have been started but are not, the Should Start
By... filter should get you most of the way there. As far as the
"behind schedule" piece, I guess that would depend upon what you mean by
behind schedule. Tasks that started late would show positive Start
Variance (Start > Baseline Start). Tasks that started on time but are
projected to finish late would show positive Finish Variance (Finish >
Baseline Finish).

I suggest exploring the Should Start By... or Should Start/Finish By
filters and see if they are close to what you need. (Edit the filters
to see what fields, tests, and values are being used.)

I help this helps. Let us know how you get along.
