Creating work bucket tasks

How do I create a tasks in project like work buckets?

I need to schedule a tasks that may be an annual task (Jan 1 - Dec 31), but
I have an allocated amount of hours for this tasks for the year. I want to
create it in the project plan, and note how many hours of work are allocated
to this tasks, have have the schedule NOT end before the end of the year, but
it may include 120hrs for the year max.

Create your one year task
Insert the Work column
Enter the value 120h in the Work cell.
Assign a resource by a simple click on the Assign button of the Assign
Resource dialog.

Sorry Gerard, I am still just a little confused.

When I create my 1yr task, how should I create it. Do I set it up as 365ed
for duration? Do I manually set START and END DATE?
