Customised Factory Calendar

H

Hardip

Hi All

I have to put together a customised calendar to reflect working patterns as
follows:

1. 6am till 10pm Monday to Friday
2. Saturday 6am till 2pm
3. No Sunday work
4. A selection of public holidays

Is there a method I can deploy to do this by year or does project only allow
a month. I hve to do this for 2006 to 2008. Also, what is the difference
between:

1. Non-working time
2. Non-default working time

I'd appreciate any helpful guidance the group can provide.

It's grey and overcast here in the UK. I hope the sun is shining wherever
you are :)

Thanks in advance to all who respond.

Hi,

First: select the header of a weekday (f.i. the M of Monday) to introduce
changes that are "eternal" not just month

Second: nonworking time is when Project will not schedule tasks (such as
Sundays)
Nondefault working time is working time different from what MS considers
default (8-12, 13-17). It is not a very relevant property and does not
influence the schedule.

Third: Belgium is just as grey :-((

Hey Jan

Thanks for the response. I've inputted the calendar changes but noticed two
issues:

1. Saturday is still greyed out in the previous pane.
2. When adding a task it automatically defaults to 0.4wks - basically it's
doubling the time.

Is there something I have to do with hours?

I'd appreciate any further assistance.

It's raining here now :-(

Thanks again,
Hardip

Hi,

Can't help you on the SQaturday - how would I know what "the previous pane"
is?
You have to know that the only unit Project works with is the minute.
So, the hour is something it knows, but day, week and month are things you
have to define
Do so in Tools, Options, Calendar.

To get more on the subject read
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
Faq 5. Default working hours
And btw, when you change the working day from 8 hrs to 4 hrs, isn't it
logical the duration as expressed in days, doubles?
