Default page set up for word

My hard drive died and so a new one has been put in BUT after I have loaded
microsoft word XP I can not get the page set up to stay the way I want it. I
have hit default each time I have done a page set up but when I shut down the
computer and re start it has gone back to the one I started with not the set
up I want. Is there something that can stop you changing the default that I
have accidentally allowed?

Is Adobe Acrobat 7.0 installed on the computer? If yes, then the
Acrobat 7.0 Create Adobe PDF toolbar add-in for Word prevents Word from
automatically saving changes to the Normal.dot template (which is where
page setup customizations are stored). See
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=331259 for
several solutions to the problem.

If this is your employer's computer and you are on a network, then there
might be something in your network login script that resets your
Normal.dot template each time you log in, in which case you need to talk
to your network administrator.
