I have a client with Office 2000 Pro. Word and Excel work fine. If I open
them up and start a new doc/sheet, it works right away, no delay. If we open
an existing doc/sheet, it opens it up, you can type within the first 2-3
seconds, then you have to wait at least 30 seconds for it to allow you to
type, or it register what you did type. If I open an additional file without
closing the first one, the delay does not occur. I have done extensive virus
and spy ware scans. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the
software, including registry & file cleans. We even tried office 2002 and it
had the same issue, so we went back to the 2000. I also did a test where I
created a new doc, saved it on the desktop, exited, opened it from the
desktop and we still get the delay. There is also no network, all files are
local.
Any help or ideas are appreciated. It has to be something small and stupid.
