Delay in typing with Entourage

I have one user who has typing delays in Entourage. In other words, when he
types, sometimes there's a delay before what he types shows up on the screen
in Entourage. He is using Entourage 2004 (with all updates applied)
connecting to an Exchange 2003 server. I've read reports of other users
having this problem, but have not seen any good solutions. Anyone have any
suggestions?

Entourage 2004 was bad about this. Try logging out/in with shift key down to
disable any login items and test. This will eliminate any third party
products that could be causing the problem. Next would be to check the
schedule time. If Entourage is constantly downloading this will cause
Entourage 2004 to lag.

You can also open the Activity Monitor and have it viewable while using
Entourage. Click on the CPU tab so that the higher CPU processes are showing
on top. This might show you what is hogging power.

Thanks. I will try these suggestions.

Has anyone seen any more of this problem? It's been happening to me
occasionaly since upgrading to Leopard. At least it seems that way -
have not done any fully controlled test to determine that's the case -
it just started happening not long after I upgraded.

I can create a new message, type in the address, tab on to the message
body and start typing. Then nothing happens. For several (30 or more)
seconds.

It's a quite intermittent problem - can go for days without it
happening. All the more difficult to nail down. Will try Diane's
suggestions next time it occurs. Actually I'm not sure where the
"schedule time" is set. Did I overlook it in Preferences, Accounts or
Schedules somewhere?
