Display a URL inside a Table

L

Lauren

Is it possible to display a URL inside of a table instead of using frames?
If so, how?

Thanks!

Tom [Pepper] Willett

If you are talking about a URL internal to the web site, you can use the
include page component inside a table. If the URL is external to another
web, you can't use the include page.

It is an external link to another site that is not apart of my company. Can
something still be done to achieve this? I don't want to use frames, because
my side nav bar has a javascript flyout menu that doesn't work when put in a
frame. The flyouts get cut off.

Thanks,

Lauren

Be aware that IFrames have most of the user problems that frames do....

It still doesn't solve my problem with my sidemenu not working. It uses
javascript and I don't know what I need to include in order for it to work.
All my other pages call this file as an Include at it works fine.

Thanks,

L

I finally got the side bar to work, but now my fly-out menu is behind the
main frame.

see here:
<http://www.westardisplaytechnologies.com/Salesforce/SelfService3.asp>

I've tried setting the z-order for the side bar to 0 and 3 and setting the
main frame to -1 but it doesn't help.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

You cannot do this with z-index. Your only practical solution would be to
move the frame boundaries, or to dump frames altogether.

Is there a way to dump the frames together so that I have the sidenav bar
file and the external web link in one?

Thanks,

Only by dumping the frames and building a non-framed page.

Ew. I wouldn't make that recommendation, if you mean layers (absolutely
positioned divs). If, on the other hand, you mean just div containers
(statically positioned divs), then there is no realy benefit to using them
*unless* you also know how to style them with CSS so that they are
positioned properly....

L

Lauren

So you can use DIV layers to display a side bar and an external web link in
the same frame?

Thanks,

Lauren
