Display background at full strength in print layout

When I place an image on the master page, then go to the print view the image
is 'ghosted' or displayed like a watermark. I want the image to appear full
weight as it is a form with specific fonts used that most users do not have,
corporate brand. Can I control how placed images on the master page appear in
normal or print view?

Objects anchored to the header or footer will be dimmed when the insertion
point is in the document body (and vice versa); there is no way around this
except to work in Print Preview.
