Display vertical lines for milestones?

Greetings. I have a Gantt chart set up. The boss wants to see vertical
lines from top to bottom where there are specific milestones. I still want
to use the milestone symbol but just with a vertical line through it. Is
there an easy way to do this? (I can go into the drawing toolbar and draw a
vertical line but I'd rather see if there is an automatic setting.)

Also if there is a setting for this can it be used on only certain
milestones as opposed to all milestones?

Thanks!

I don't recall any way to do this. The symbols in the "Bar Styles"
dialog box are all that you can have, and I don't recall one with a
vertical line. As for drawing one, you can, of course, do that.
However, if your milestone's date changes, or you change the
timescale, your line will not be in the correct place. Maybe someone
else here has a clever workaround for this one.

Hope this helps in your world.

There are only a few different vertical lines available - status date,
current date are those that come to mind.
You will have to draw your own vertical lines. Fortunately you can anchor
them to a specific date or task.

Draw the line, right click and select "properties" from there go to the size
and position tab and attach it to the milestone.

Hi davegb, Jack's post seems to have the answer. Right Click on the line,
select properties and marry it to the task by ID number. If the milestone
date changes, the vertical line walks with it. The same is true if time
scale changes.
