Does Word automatically close after a period of time?

I'm sure that it does... After working on other things for a time, when I
look up to open a document in Word, it has closed... Am I just spacey or has
it happened to others? I'm just getting used to the features in Word 2003 -
maybe this is one of them...

It's not supposed to. You might be experiencing a bug in Word's handwriting
