If you're asking how to *view* a PowerPoint
file... (The file extension would be .ppt)

And if you do not have PowerPoint....

There's a free viewer you can download at the
following link.

PowerPoint2003 Viewer
http://tinyurl.com/nmze

Supported Operating Systems:
Windows 2000 Service Pack 3,
Windows 98 Second Edition,
Windows ME,
Windows Server 2003,
Windows XP

This download works with
presentations created in the
following Office programs:

Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003
Microsoft PowerPoint 2002
Microsoft PowerPoint 2000
Microsoft PowerPoint 97

Why are you downloading files if you don't know what it is or how to open
it? That is how you end up with a screwed up, virus-ridden computer.

Don

And why are you posting in a *Publisher* group if you've downloaded a
PowerPoint file...?

Why are you replying to this post in any way? At least the OP doesn't know
any better, what's your excuse?

So that next time the OP does know better?

<"Seems to me you need to upload your computer back to the
<store..."
Is that appropriate? Will that help the op know better next time?

It is far better than you will see in most of Usenet.

A message like that may make the OP feel ashamed or embarrassed of their
mistake, and so they will remember it and not want to make it again in
future. I don't subscribe to that method myself, but I understand those who
do.

So you think as an "esteemed" member of the MVP's that shaming and
embarrassing people is a good way to teach them, that you "understand" that
method, what does that mean? Well I don't subscribe to that method at all
and when I do see it I point that out.

I see that it is one way of seeing the world and that in many cases it
works. I don't use it myself, as I believe there are alternative ways that
are less nasty, but I have little problem with those who do unless their
responses are incorrect.
When Ms Cake posts incorrect information, I do my best to correct it in a
nice, non-persecuting way.

Well you contradict yourself, you say that it's ok to embarrass people in
one respect but not for me to do the same thing to Tick, that in this case
it's not ok?

Don, changing your posting name to mine does not negate the fact that
Ed gave a perfectly concise and gentlemanly reply. Please do not troll
this group with gratuitous insults for those who have been around for
many, many moons. Insults are best left to those from whom they are
expected (if only for comic relief!0 such as our resident curmudgeon,
Ms. Cake.

Blessed be, for sure...

This is my normal posting name.I change it for Ticks benefit not anyone
else's. Do you think your the only person in the world with that name?
As far as"Ed" is concerned I think he can make his own argument, why don't
you? That in itself more of an insult than anything that the "resident
curmudgeon" would post.
