Downloading ms office 2003 to 3 computers

I was able to download the student edition of ms office 2003 to my 2 destops
but when I tried to put it on my Sony laptop, all I got were the file
contents in icons without anyway to download the software. My understanding
is that it would go on 3 computers. Ideas?
