drop down menus disappearing!

My drop down font and tools menus have disappeared. When I click on the
top name on the menu, font or tools, nothing appears to drop down. So I
have lost my word count and other tools, and with fonts I have to
access them from other windows and formats, How can I get my drop down
options back? More importantly I don't know how I have done this. IMac

Since you didn't say which version of Word, I'll assume you've got Word
2001:
