Duplicate task appearing in Resource usage

In Project 2007, when I am viewing the "Resource Usage" the tasks are
frequently duplicated under a specific resource. This causes that particular
resource's hours to be doubled. I am still very new to MS Project, so I
realize there may be some very elementary mistake I am making. If you know
what my mistake is, or more importantly, how to fix this problem, please let
me know. Thanks.

I've seen this only in circumstances where a resource pool was used. Do you?
