duration 2 days but start finish indicates 3 days

When I set the duration in Microsoft Project for say: two days, then the
start and finish date show three days,

for example if I set a duration of 2 days, start date 1/12/07 then finish
date in 3/12/07- I of course want a start date of 1/12/07 and finish 2/12/07

how do i rectify this??

Thanks

Hello Kim,

The first thing I suggest is to change the display of the start and
finish dates to show time as well as date. Go to Tools > Options, View
tab. In the date format drop down list, select a format showing date
and time.

If your task does not start at the start of the work day (usually 08:00
by default) and you enter a duration of 2 days, the task will not finish
until 2 full days later.

In order to have project work as you expect, you also need to make sure
the calendar (Tools > Change Working Time) and the definition of the
number of hours in a day are in synch. See FAQ #5 at
http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm for some additional information.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
