Duration in MS Project

A

antares

Hi
In one ms project file I saw task start date 23-April-08 and finish date
05-June-08
but in duration filed it was written 20 days, and Gantt bar had a split...
so could it be that "20 day" work is somehow imbeded in 32 days? and instead
of 32 days it shows 20 days?

Please could any one advise me how that comes?

If you right click the Task bar in the Gantt view you can choose to split a
task in two parts. That will keep the duration to ie 20 days but the dates
might have a longer interval.
