dynamic html effects

Is there any reason why I should not use Dynamic html?
If an effect doesn't appear to be visible what could be
the problem? Thanks.

Hi Lisa,

The best thing to do regarding DHTML is to just test it
in different browsers.

If the DHTML effect is more for appearance rather than
functionality, then it would really be your choice. For
example there are several DHTML effects within FP that
are only supported by IE, but they are that big of an
issue.

Your concern should be functionality, if the DHTML is a
menu / navigation or another key componet of your
website, you should make sure of cross browser support.

One thing I do is put a page up and then have a variety
of friends look at it in all different browsers and
computer types (Mac, AOL, Opera, Netscape, etc..)

This will allow you to troubleshoot an issue and then
determine how to correct it at the early development
stage, rather than the website is complete and I have a
problem stage.

Hope it helps,
JDR

The only problem would be if they weren't cross-browser compatible (i.e.
they don't work in all browsers) because some people won't be able to see
them. If the option is grayed out then check Tools, page Options,
Compatibility and see what browser you have set. Check all the boxes and
set all the drop downs to custom. Note, this still won't ensure that they
are cross-browser compatible.
