Edit Picture--Activating in Word

Hi,

I recently received a new computer with Windows XP and
Microsoft Office with Word--2003 edition.

I cannot edit a pictur--when I right click on a picture
the Menue comes up but Edit Picture is in faint text and
cannot be activated.

I go to Tools/Options/Edit and Picture Edit has Microsoft
Office Word checked but it still does not allow me to
edit a picture.

What can I do to get this activated.

Also, when I bring up an older Word 2000 document with a
picture that has been edited by Word 2000 it permits me
to edit it in Word 2003 on my new computer--BUT a picture
in that document that was not edited in the old Word
cannot be edited in the new Word.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm experiencing a similar problem and wondered if you
found an answer?

I used to be able to open and edit clip art through right
clicking on picture and clicking on EDIT PICTURE. When I
try to do that now, NOTHING HAPPENS. I am running WORD
2000 Professional and have reloaded it to no avail.

Hopefully, you found an answer that might work for me?

Thanks

Try customizing your "Picture" toolbar. Go to the "Commands" tab. Go to "Edit" then select and drag the "Picture" Command to your "Picture" toolbar. Use the "Picture" command to convert the picture to a word picture. This seems to work for me.
