Editting Text in Gantt Chart

I am using Visio 2000 and working with the Gantt chart
template for the first time. I am trying to edit the text
of some of my tasks. After selecting the text tool, I
double click on the task box and the entire body of text
is highlighted. I don't have the ability to get an
insertion, only replace. It seems like the text box is
locked somehow.

I can edit the text in the Column Headings using the same
procedure I am trying on the task lines.

This is probably user error, but it is driving me crazy.
Has anyone run into this before?

fyi - According to Microsoft Support Services, you can't
edit task information in Visio 2000, but this was changed
in 2002.
