Email disappears

My Inbox only displays email from the past week; older email is
"disappearing." Where is it going? (No rules have been created; it is not
found in the archives, either.) Help!

Could auto-archiving have been set to delete not archive items?

What's going on is you have your view set to "Last Seven Days". Click
View>Arrange By>Current View and choose Messages.

I agree with Brian, check your view. I would bet you a Krispy Kreme doughnut
that the mailbox has filtering on it!
View / Current View / Messages <==== this would be your simplest view to see
everything.
