email from a form secure

I have a form that I have the results emailed to me. It has credit card
info on it.

Is this secure or do I need to do something else to make it secure?

If you are pointing your form via https, and the digital certificate is
valid, then the collection of the information is secure.

It becomes unsecure the minute it is submitted and routes to you via e-mail.

For secure ordering your best option is to contact your host and determine
what you are using and what they offer.

You may also want to consider a 3rd party hosted shopping cart, which can be
inexpensive and offer much more of a secure solution, than e-mailing a form.

I just want to be sure on this...

I'm thinkng that since I'm not collecting any information, but only emailing
it that a secure certificate won't work. Is this correct?

Also, that since I have no items to sell, a a shopping cart would be
unnecessary.

Is this right?

Credit card info is *not* secure via email. You need to stop accepting them
immediately. The liability risks you face are humongous. Not to say what
the credit card user will go through.

Email security can be done with PGP Encryption applications, which are not
cheap. You can Google for PGP Encryption to find out more. Contact your
host to see what they recommend.

First...I have not implemented this yet so there's no risk.

Secondly, I'm not storing any information...just sending it via email. Is
that still unsafe?

Sending credit card information by email over the internet is NOT secure!!!!
No different then sending credit card information via form over the internet
without a secure certificate (HTTPS).
