Email passwords not remembered

I am having an interesting problem and was hoping someone
could help. My Outlook (or Outlook Express) will not
remember by passwords to access my pop email accounts when
I first open the program. Yes I do have the remember
password box checked, but anytime I close the program and
open it I am asked for the password. I am unable to enter
it in the pop up window, I must open the account window
and enter it in the setup screen. After it is entered it
will be ok until the next time the program is closed and
opened.

When I do go to enter it the box for password is blank,
even though I entered it last time and hit the remember
password box.

I am using Windows XP Professional on a Dell computer with
Outlook 2000 or Outlook Express 6. Both will act the same.
Any help is appreciated.
