Email tasks to Generic Reources

My user community wants to be able to assign a generic - like plumber and
have the task assingmenet request go to the manager of the plumbers.... It
appears that we can add an email address for each generic resoruce , but the
system will not mail the task information to the email account that is
listed.... Is this a set up issue if not can it be changed another way ?

Thanks

Generics act differently. E-mail won't work. Also, generic assignemtns
don't show up. Kinda annoying, I know.

Work around. Create a real, meaning, not generic, "plumber" in the MS
Project Resource pool through MS Project (never add resources through the PWA
interface!) as a MS Project Server resource, meaning, don't add a Windows
account. Add e-mail for that account. That account should get e-mail.

Another hint. Don't have just one "plumber" (whether generic or not). Have
"plumber1", "plumber2", etc. Use these generics or psuedo-reals as if it is
a real person. When you do a "Replace" in MS Project, all "plumber1" will go
to that real resource. However, if you have one plumber generic or
psuedo-real, you'll have 50 ga-zillion hours on that one resouce which would
be a nightmare to figure out how to break out the task hours...

That work for you? If not, please re-post...

Thanks,
