Email won't delete

Using Entourage 2004 with Tiger. Suddenly a week ago, my email started
behaving erratically: My inbox keeps showing that there is an unread
message, even though all have been read (the number 1 is in parentheses
next to the word Inbox).

Also, when I delete a read email message, it reapppears in my Inbox the
next time I return.

Entourage and Tiger are current to latest updates. Antivirus is
current and scan shows no infection.

Is my Entourage corrupted? Can it be re-set, or do I need to
re-install it?

Thanks!

Is this an IMAP, Hotmail, or Exchange account? If so, try opening the
window, and pressing Command-L to refresh the message list. If that doesn't
correct the problem, press Option-Command-L to repair the message list.

If that doesn't work, press Shift-Command-O to double-check for unread
messages.

If the display is empty and you still see a number there, try rebuilding the
database.

In Entourage 2004, you must launch the Microsoft Database Utility.
1. Launch Entourage, holding down the ³Option² key. Or, launch the
Database Utility separately; it is located in HD/Applications/Microsoft
Office 2004/Office/.
2. If you are prompted, allow the Database Utility to quit open Office
applications.
3. Once the Database Utility is open, select your identity from the list at
the top.
4. Click the ³Rebuild Database² button, and click ³Continue.²

Also, when I delete a read email message, it reapppears in my Inbox the
next time I return.

What kind of account are you using? That's certainly not expected behavior.

It's a POP account. Command key actions were unsuccessful, but
re-builting the database with the Utility seems to have fised it.

Thanks!!!
