Entering a Start Date getting yesterdays date?

Hi all,

I am seeing a strange behaviour? When I am setting the start date to let say
this Monday. It reverts it back to Friday last week. I have to set the start
date
to Tuesday to get Monday? This happens to some of the resources assigned to
tasks. But not to others? There must be a setting that is wrong?

Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Hi

where are you setting the start date - basically in project the only start
date that should ever get set is the project start date under project /
project information ..but this shouldn't affect "some of the resources ..
but not others".

it might be worth having a read through Mike Glen's series of tutorials on
using project at http://tinyurl.com/2xbhc

Please post back if you have further questions -with a few more details of
what is happening and what version of project you're using.

Cheers

Hi Julie,

I should have been more clear. I am using Microsoft Project Professional 2002.

I am in Task Usage view. The task has many person assigned. The task has
started
long time ago 2003... (Fixed Unit type, As Soon As Possible).
I have added 2 more resources to start on the task.
For few weeks they never started on their tasks, so I decided to give them a
new
Start date. For person A, whatever date I am selecting, the Start column
gives me
the day before. For example I am selecting this Monday as the new start
date. It gives me last Friday. In the timephased field on the right side, I
can see that there is no work assigned on Friday but Monday which is fine.
The only thing is the date in the "Start" column is wrong. For person B,
everything is fine. If I set Monday I get Monday as my start date in the same
task...

It seems to be dependent on a personal setting but I don't know which one?

Thanks,

It has to be something in their resource calendars but without seeing the
file it's hard to say what it is.

Hi all, (Thanks Steve).

I tried to see what happing with a macro. In this example, the Start Date is
set as
Friday Nov-26 5:00 PM (Which is the end date for the resource).
And in Task Usage I can see that there is 0h work on that Friday.
There is work assigned on Monday. The only way to make the Monday the 29th
to become the Start date, is to clear the work on Monday, i.e all work will
start
8:30 AM on Tuesday the 30th. That rools back to give the Start Date of
November 29 (5:00 PM). However, now Monday has no work, so that is not
correct. I hope this can ring any beels for some one out there?

Thanks,
