Equations in filters?

Can I filter for tasks that start before [Status Date] + 5 days in a filter?
I couldn't figure out how to do this so hacked around it with custom fields
that are all just set to the dates I want, but I wonder if anyone knows if I
can use equations of any kind in filters.

I do not believe that arithmetic functions are allowed in filters, but
boolean operations (and, or, =) are .

You may have already found this, but if you customise Date1 (for
example) to represent [Status Date] + 5 (for completeness your formula
should cater for the case when [Status Date] is equal to NA) then you
can create a filter for tasks that start before Date1.

Maybe this is what you meant by your customisation but it sounds as
though you just set concrete dates.
