Error in Ofc 2000 set-up

I use a Win XP O/S and has just set-up Office 2000
Premium. When I search for files using "search" help, the
windows installer runs on its own re-configuring the
windows 2000 premium set-up process.

What should I do to stop the installer from running? I
tried to repair and reintall Office 2000 but this doesn't
improve the situation.
