Are you still using Word 200 and Excel 2000? If so then this is caused
by showing the OA in one version and hiding it in another.
This is a known issue when running multiple versions of Office. There
are two resolutions you can use:
1. Always leave the Office Assistant visible or hidden in both
versions. IOW, do not modify the show/hide status. If you turn if off
in one version and then show it in another version, or vice-versa,
then you will encounter the error message again.
2. Obtain the hot described in this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=840644
However, once you apply the hotfix you will find the Office Assistant
will always turn on when starting an Office 2000 application. So if
you have it hidden, restarting an application will turn it back on and
there is no workaround for maintaining its current show/hide state.
