everytime i try to open any application, word 97 appears and says.

i need help urgently, for the last two months have had a problem with my
computer. This is my computer and have 5 users ok. As soon as i go to my user
site, word 97 appears with run32windll. I try to open any application
whatsoever, and Office 97 appears saying that such and such cannot be opened
by Dos????
