Excel 2003

I have Excel 2003 SP3, which can not open lotus files. The error message I
get "You are attempting to open a file type that is blocked by your registry
policy setting."
I found article 922848, but it did not help. I can open the lotus file with
Excel 2002.
Is there a patch to fix this or has anyone had this same issue.
Thanks

The SP3 that you just applied did make some changes to supported file
formats for Word, and if the same applies to Excel, that would explain it.
The security update 933666 allowed blocking of certain file formats, as
well.If you check out KB922848 again, the Excel 2003 section specifically
shows how Lotus file types are restricted, and what registry keys are used
for that. If you look in your registry, do you see the LotusandQuattroFiles
entries as shown in that article?

If you can't do that, and if there are just a few files, and you just need
to convert them, then open them in Excel 2002, save as a compatible format,
and open them in Excel 2003.

Are you in a corporate environment or standalone (like at home or only one
computer user)?
