Excel Graph (fill too large)

M

Maxwell

Hello,

I have a word doc that has an excel graph attached to it.
When you double click on the graph, it opens up so that I
can make changes (which I like). The problem is, that the
document is quite large and people have a hard time
opening it from thier mail box. I need to somehow shrink
the size of the file without losing the graphs.

Please note that I like the fact that I can click into the
graph to make my changes. This way I don't always have to
cut and paste onto the document and adjust the size, etc.

Is there an easy way to take care of this problem?
I tried saving the graphs as a picture but it does not
work.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Mx

Hi Maxwell,

Do the recipients only need to see the graph, or should they
also be able to change it? I get the feeling they don't need
to edit it. In that case, try edit/cut. Then Edit/Paste
Special and paste it as a picture back into the document
(copy).

The thing with a graph, or Excel sheet, or anything other OLE
object is that it carries so much information about its
native application that Word has to save in its binary
structure. This can really bloat the file size, as you've
found.
