Clicking either an *.xls or *.xlt file starts Excel but only as a blank shell
- the workbooks themselves do not open. They will open in Excel, however,
from the Recent File List or using the menu File>Open search dialog. I am
using Excel 2003 SP3. The problem was first noted when I ported in an Excel
2002XP file and clicked to open it. Excel started but the file did not open.
I have previously been able to open files in Excel 97, 2000, 2002, and 2003
with not problem. The only other change prior to the anomaly was that I
upgraded to Adobe Studio 8 which installed the FlashPaper (PDF maker) as a
menu item and tool bar in all my Office 2003 apps. But Word and the rest have
shown no problems and open as usual. This may or may not be a factor. Anyone
know how I can fix the Excel problem? Would running a "repair" help?
